Plant vs Zombies Updated with Zen Garden and more

It's been a while since I've written a post. And what best way to do it but with a write up about my favorite game on the iPod Touch - Plants vs Zombies.

One of the biggest things on my wish list is for Plants vs Zombies to have the Zen Garden for the iPod Touch. I saw my nephews play with it on the PC version of the game. Sadly, when I first got the game on my iPod, this was a PC-only feature. I've read comments on the Apple Apps Store requesting the same thing.
I've played the game multiple times and collected all the trophies. I was finally getting bored with it until this update revived my love for the game.

Thankfully, PopCap Games finally heard our prayers. And as of 11 June of 2011, I finally have the Zen Garden on my "PvZ".

Even though the update was huge (around 30 MB, I think). It was all worth it.
The changes are noticeable on the first look.

New Home Screen

The home screen got a new look. It has a garden gnome-looking zombie for the 'Achievement' icon. There are also new gaming options. And of course, the icon for the Zen Garden.

More Gaming Options

Not only does the update include the Zen Garden, some of the mini games for the PC version made its way to the portable version via the update as well. I don't want to spoil it for you, so I'll just give you a preview here. I should warn you though, the ported version will take a little more time and effort to finish. But I think for PvZ fans, it's going to be a painfully fantastic experience playing them.

New Achievements
Of course, with new games come new achievements and trophies. I'm sure hardcore players of PvZ, like me, would enjoy playing the game for the new trophies. And mind you, these are not so easily achieved. It will take more time and money to get these trophies.

Zen Garden (Finally)
Our prayers have finally been answered. Zen Garden is finally here. We can finally buy seedlings, tend to our garden, and finally, sell our plants. I must say the return on the investment for the plants are all worth it. I'm still working my way to a full garden, but I'll get there.

You can buy stuff for your garden from this Crazy guy. I don't know how he escaped from the zombies, but I'm sure glad he did. He's selling new stuff from the back of his car. Fertilizers, new plants, tools, and many more trinkets to  upgrade your garden. I must admit though, for a crazy guy, he'll surely be filthy rich.

And by the way, he'll also be your only customer to buy your plants

Final Thoughts

I'm pretty impressed with the update for the game. It's a really great way to revive the interest on the game. Thumbs up for the people of PopCap Games. I just wish they added a few more variety of plants or zombies while they were at it. But I think that might be asking too much already. I sure hope there's a sequel to the game. I'll be looking forward to it. I just know that it's going to be great when that happens. Besides, PvZ is one of the reason I got an iPod Touch and I was never disappointed.
